Vindictive Service Will Text Your Enemies Game of Thrones Spoilers

A mean-spirited new service offers to text Game of Thrones spoilers to your “friends” immediately after each episode airs. Spoiled.io charges $0.99 per spoiler and can send messages to international numbers.
“Do your friends love Game of Thrones,” the Spoiler.io website reads, “but watch it after it airs? Are you a terrible friend? Great!”
“For just $0.99 USD, Spoiled will anonymously and ruthlessly text spoilers to our unsuspecting friends after each new episode airs. Afterwards, sit back, relax, and follow Spoiled on Twitter to see how your friends react.”
Spoilers.io was apparently inspired by the story of a woman who would text spoilers for the hit HBO fantasy show to her ex-boyfriend every Monday morning. He cheated on her, and she took her revenge. According to him:
“Since then she spoils the show for me every week. I tried to ask her to stop but she blocks me immediately after she sends the message. I blocked her on whatsap [sic], but she did it via Facebook. Then the next week it was text. She even borrowed one of our mutual friends [sic] phones to do it, and I fell for that. (Our mutual friends are all closer to her and apparently hate me now because of what she’s told them about me.) I can’t watch it before she ruins it [because] I have to wait til [sic] my girlfriend (my ex ex) is home from work to watch it with her.”
While Spoilers.io insists on calling potential victims of its service “friends” – punishing a cheating ex, while petty, is at least understandable – anyone who would inflict such vengeful act upon another is no friend.
