Viper V550 Optical Ambi Gaming Mouse Mouse Review

How Much Does it Cost?
The mouse is available from the Viper store directly. However, it’ll no doubt be hitting retail stores any time now too, in all the usual international regions. It’s priced at just £34.99 too, so it’s hardly going to break the bank. It’s priced affordably but is easily competitive with more expensive models.
Overview
Patriot moved more into the gaming world a few years back. It started with more gamer focused memory products, which made sense. Since then, they’ve gone for gaming headsets, keyboards, mice, mouse mats, and more. They’ve matured and grown a lot over the years too. Their first ones were very affordable and competitive. Their Viper brand has evolved this year from the new kid on the block to a serious competitor.
Build Quality
Everything on this mouse is pretty tight. Even the braided USB cable feels a little more robust and durable than most. The improved sensor and button configuration is the biggest step up though. Not that their previous mice were rubbish, but this is unmistakably a big improvement. They’re caught up on the RGB game too, the lights are vivid and colourful, without being too in your face.
Performance
I really can’t fault the performance here. I’m especially pleased with the sensor most of all though. It’s super smooth and pixel perfect. I tried to trip it up with some rapid tracking and frantic movement, but the cursor returned to the start point every time without fail. Fully programmable buttons, easy to use software and responsive switches. What more could you ask for!?
