A Closer Look

The overall design of the V560 certainly stands out, and the well tried and tested black and red “gaming” theme does actually work rather well here, giving some nice contrast to the grippy matte black finished panels.

There’s a very deep scooped out shape on the left side, giving a good thumb gripping point, which is enhanced further by the soft grip rubber padding. There are the usual two side buttons, but if you look down at the bottom, there’s a forward/back toggle that can be used for the DPI speed adjustments.

At the back, a small Viper logo, as well as an LED strip for the built-in lighting effects. The right side panel has a heavy curve to it too, giving good ergonomics for the a claw-grip play style.

There’s a 4-way scroll wheel with more rubber grip coating, keeping in theme with the rest of the mouse, as well as two extra programmable switches behind that. Finally, you’ll find two more LED lighting in the front of the mouse.

Breaking away from the norm, the V560 uses five ceramic pads for effortless glide on virtually any surface. There’s a red button here also, push that and you can remove the right side panel of the mouse.

The panel is easily removed, allowing you to swap out that smooth panel for a more finger-rest friendly panel for those who prefer a palm-rest grip.

Behind these panels, there’s another button, this one releases the weight tuning drawer.

It loads like a floppy disc (if you remember them) and clicks into place easily enough.

Once removed, you can simply slot in however many weights you need and clip the mouse back together without the use of any tools.

Here you can see the optional side panel, it’s quite wide, but for those long gaming sessions, the added comfort it provides for palm-rest is certainly worth it.
