Viper V560 Laser Gaming Mouse Review

Performance

The included software is really nicely designed, giving a clear layout that allows you to quickly configure your button configurations with macros, keyboard shortcuts and much more. This is all with the added bonus of up to five profiles, allowing you to save everything directly to the mouse.

A range of nice advanced features allow you to tweak the DPI, axis, sniper functions and more, all of which can be programmed to any button on the mouse.

A rather robust macro recording engine.

There are up to four DPI profiles per profile, each allowing independent X and Y adjustments.

Finally, we have a few extra settings for angle snapping, OSD and acceleration.

The OSD is pretty cool, a simple screen overlay that shows you what DPI/Profile you just selected.

Sensor performance on this mouse isn’t pretty good overall, not as smooth as I would like, but perhaps I’ve been spending too much time with optical sensors (as if that’s really a problem). However, it’s good a good DPI range and there’s minimal jitter, so at this price range, you’ll be very happy with the results. Acceleration and angle snapping weren’t a problem either, which is always a good sign. Combine that with the snappy and responsive switches and the Viper V560 is a fairly robust gaming mouse overall.

The RGB LED lighting offers a little extra colour customisation, making it much easier to see which profile you have selected. Of course, you can just use it for a bit of an aesthetics boost, the choice is yours.

The actual mouse performs rather well, especially so thanks to the adjustable weight, ceramic gliders, and adjustable grip shape. It’s really easy to tune it to your play style and dial in the button configuration you require for each application. It’s not the greatest gaming mouse ever, but it’s certainly one of the more versatile and feature packed in this price range.
