Viper V560 Laser Gaming Mouse Review

Introduction

Patriot may be better known for their memory products, but this year has seen them expand their range from the world of high-performance hardware, to tackle the world of gaming peripherals! We’ve already seen their latest headset, the V360, and you can check out review for that right here. However, today we’ll be taking a look at their feature-packed laser gaming mouse, the Viper V560.

“The Patriot V560 gaming mouse is one of the most customizable mice on the market with up to 29.4g of adjustable weight and five onboard profiles. Nine programmable buttons are easily accessible during intense gaming sessions allowing users to switch profiles quickly to fit personal gaming techniques.” – Viper

Equipped with a weight tuning system, programmable buttons, LED lighting, a modular ergonomic design, we’ve certainly got good expectations for its performance today. Of course, this is the first mouse Patriot have released, so I’m not expecting it to be the best on the market, but at the very least I’m hoping to see a good base for Viper to build on with future releases.

“The V560 is also equipped with an Xtreme precision laser sensor with up to 8200 DPI (now 12,000DPI after firmware update) for accuracy and speed while maneuvering through the most demanding games. Conveniently located DPI LED lights indicate the current DPI level that can be modified via the Patriot software. Two interchangeable grips offer the user customization along with an ergonomic design and the ceramic footpads allow for maximum performance and speed on any surface. Backed by Patriot’s award winning customer service and a two year warranty, the V560 is compatible with nearly every Windows operating system, including Windows® 10 and later, and Mac® OS X, or higher.” – Viper

The packaging is nicely designed, with bright colours and a smart-looking image of the mouse on the front.

Around the back, a quick breakdown of the features, including the interchangeable grips, 12,000 DPI laser sensor, and programmable buttons.

The box opens out, showing off the mouse and detailing the LED lighting and weight tuning.

In the box, you’ll find the mouse, which comes hard-wired with a stunning black and red braided cable, the documentation, a secondary grip panel and a small tin of weights.

In the tin, there are six small weights in total, they’re not labeled, though, but in total they’ll add up to 29.4g of weight to the mouse.
