Viper V760 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Review

Introduction

Patriot may be best known for their high-end memory products, but did you know they now have a gaming division? Following on from our reviews of their first gaming headset, the Viper V360, as well as their first gaming mouse, the Viper V560, we’re kicking off today with a look at their high-end mechanical gaming keyboard, the Viper V760.

“The Patriot V760 RGB mechanical gaming keyboard is sure to be the envy of all your friends at the next LAN Party. With 104 programmable macro keys and 16.8 million customizable colors to illuminate each key, the V760 will provide a personalized experience and ideal tactical key response. With six dedicated multimedia keys and 104 key rollover and anti-ghosting, no keystroke will go unnoticed while editing your latest YouTube video or dominating friends in the latest PC game.” – Patriot

Equipped with all the latest features that we’ve come to expect from a high-end gaming keyboard, the V760 has full per-key 16.8m colour RGB lighting, full N-Key and anti-ghosting, multimedia controls, macros, and mechanical switches, so I’m eager to see how it performs!

Packaging

The V750 is very nicely packaged, with a colourful and durable box, a full-colour image of the keyboard, as well as a small window to let you see the key caps/switches on the directional keys.

Around the back, you’ll find a quick technical breakdown of the major features, such as the fully programmable keys, RGB lighting and USB pass-through.

There’s not much in the box, just a small envelope which contains a few stickers and all the usual documentation, but there is a key cap removal tool, which I think should come with every mechanical keyboard and you would be surprised how many don’t.

As a child still in my 30's (but not for long), I spend my day combining my love of music and movies with a life-long passion for gaming, from arcade classics and retro consoles to the latest high-end PC and console games. So it's no wonder I write about tech and test the latest hardware while I enjoy my hobbies!
