VisionTek DriveXpander Makes Use of Your Spare Expansion Slots

Wouldn’t it be great if we could take advantage of those unused expansion slots in our PC cases and turn them into something useful? Now we can with VisionTek’s DriveXpander.

The DriveXpander turns an empty expansion slot into a 2.5-inch hot-swap drive-bay for your SSDs or HDDs. The would be a quick and easy way to expand an otherwise full chassis with more drives or just make them differently accessible. It also hides the drives away from the immediate view and would be a great addition to HTPCs that otherwise rarely use the expansion slots.

The tool-free and screw-less design allows for quick and easy access while the use of the non-scratch SATA connector will ensure a long lifetime with up to 50,000 drive insertions. Status LED and a physical lock system with key is included as well in this useful little addition that VisionTek is selling for $19.99 including a SATA to MOLEX power adapter and SATA data cable.

Thanks to VisionTek for providing us with this information.
