If you are a fan of rally driving and VR gaming? Then today is a good day, as a free update for all PC players on Steam, Epic and the EA app has been revealed for EA Sports WRC and you can Watch the VR Gameplay Reveal Trailer here, or check out the video at the bottom of this post.
Electronic Arts Announced this exciting addition to EA SPORTS WRC’s this morning and it will be available tomorrow, April 30th 2024, and ready to give you all the motion sickness you can handle from the bumpy high-speed racing sim.
If you’re into your sim racing, this one is certainly too good to ignore, and it’ll support a good range of VR headsets too, such as the Meta Quest 3, Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, Valve Index, Oculus Rift S, Oculus CV1, and HTC Vive.
“We are really excited to be bringing VR to EA Sports WRC”, says Creative Director, Matthew Battison, “With VR, players will be able to experience rallying directly through the driver’s eyes and immerse themselves fully in the challenging experience that the WRC offers. They will be able to feel the adrenaline as they reach incredible speeds and tackle gravity-defying jumps in the unforgiving asphalt, gravel, and snow stages, while soaking in the highly detailed environments of the 18 game locations.”
The “minimum specs” for playing in VR are equivalent to the “recommended specs” for non-VR.
Additionally, below are some configurations to achieve optimal performance during gameplay.
Configuration 1: 90+ fps achieved
Configuration 2: 90+ fps achieved
Configuration 3: 80+ fps achieved
Any higher-spec hardware than this will result in a more performant experience, and give greater freedom to use more demanding graphics settings.
More details regarding hardware support, suggested settings and configurations, view modes and features, can be found on the EA blog. For more information about the game, please visit the official website.
