VTX3D show off HD 7870 and HD 7770 X-Edition cards at Computex 2012

TUL Corporation’s VTX3D have been busy getting out some new AMD products at Computex 2012. There are “X-Edition” variants of both the HD 7770 and HD 7870 graphics card being displayed.

HD 7770 X-Edition

VTX3D have taken this card to 1150MHz on the Core clock, meaning a 15% overclocking which should translate into 15% better gaming performance. They have also done what not many AIBs do and have bumped the memory clocks up too, to 1250MHz, 5GHz effective, which is an 11% boost. Design wise, because the card is a mid range card, a custom PCB has not been implemented. The reference AMD board design is used along with the reference AMD cooler but with the colours reversed. The card packs 1GB of GDDR5 memory across a 128bit interface with 640 GCN cores on AMD’s latest 28nm Southern Islands architecture. 2 way CrossFireX is supported.

HD 7870 X-Edition

The HD 7870 has been overclocked too by VTX3D, although this time by only 10% on the core from 1000MHz to 1100MHz. Memory clocks have been increased ever so slightly over the stock 1200MHz/4800MHz effective to 1225MHz/4900MHz effective. This designs features both a non reference PCB and cooler, bearing striking resemblance to the Power Color Eyefinity6 HD 7870 – unsurprising since TUL Corporation own both Powercolor and VTX3D. The HD 7870 packs 1280 GCN cores with 2 GB of GDDR5 memory across a 256-bit wide memory interface.
