If you do a lot of video editing then maybe Ivy Bridge is for you. Intel claim that their new Ivy Bridge chip with its integrated graphics can process media up to 4x faster. How? Intel calls the technology Quick Sync Video. Internal testing showed that it can be a lot quicker at creating and editing home videos. Now its not only Ivy Bridge that can process your media this quickly the Chief River Platform is also included.
A test carried out by Intel showed Ivy Bridge using Cyberlink media espresso as a media converter. Converting a 1080p MPEG-2 file which was 449mb into a 640×360 H.264 MPEG-4 video file. It finished 4 times quicker than the 2010 core. The file produced was much smaller as it was intended for Iphone/Ipod Touch viewing.
If you do a lot of video editing or just enjoying watching movies while out and about it seems Ivy Bridge is the way to go.
