It looks like Blizzard has decided to give some of its older games some much-needed attention, as the company has recently issued a new patch for the acclaimed Diablo 2 title, and that’s 16 years after its original release. The patch aimed to improve the game’s compatibility with newer operating systems such as Windows 10 in order to give gamers a better opportunity to take a trip down memory lane. However, since Blizzard has stated that other games will receive similar treatments, we can definitely expect to see the first Diablo getting patched, as well as some games from the Warcraft and Starcraft series. Actually, Warcraft 3 is going to be the next game to receive a belated patch.
Patch 1.27 for Warcraft 3 will be released worldwide on March 15, and it will come four years after version 1.26a that was released in 2011. The head of Blizzard’s classic games group, Robert Bridenbecker, was the one who announced the patch via a YouTube video, which you will be able to see below. The video was aimed at the Chinese Warcraft 3 community, and even though there are no details regarding the main changes for this outstanding game, we can safely assume that they will make it better than ever.
