Starting as a strategy game, then moving into massively multiplayer online roleplaying games (MMORPGs) and now joining Blizzards other creations in the multiplayer online battle arena game, Heroes of the Storm, the World of warcraft lore has expanded and continues to grow with each release. After revealing a new expansion for World of Warcraft and also revealing that its subscribers for the online role-playing game have continued to drop to all time lows, new life is soon to come to the Warcraft universe in the form of a full cinematic movie.
It’s long been suggested that there would be a Warcraft movie, and the above trailer does nothing but wets our appetite for the release. Orcs, Gryphons and magic seem to rule the scene with large battles and diplomatic reasoning setting the scene for what could be the start of another truly epic fantasy series.
Revealed at Blizzcon, their own convention, Blizzard also revealed that Activision Blizzard is creating its own film studio to release not only movies but TV series based on their games.
From the fantasy world of Warcraft and the techno shooters of Call of Duty you could soon see your films and TV shows sharing the names and voices of your favourite gaming characters.
