Warner Bros. Release Official Trailer for IT Remake

Just when you thought you could keep your underpants clean, Warner Bros. only goes and releases an official trailer for the 2017 IT remake. Pennywise is back and possibly even more terrifying this his original incarnation. Do you want a balloon sonny?

IT Remake not anticipated by all

The IT remake does have its critics. Some people are comparing this to the recent Ghostbusters debacle of being an unnecessary remake. While I agree in that regard, I can not agree about this and IT. The original IT film wasn’t even really a film, at all! It was a 2 partner made for TV special. Yes, it was good, better than it had a right to be really for such programs, but it hasn’t aged particularly well. IT is, in my opinion, a film that is perfect for a remake. Why? Because the original was excellent, it had its flaws. The IT remake doesn’t have to be better, it just has to be as good.

Tim Curry – The elephant in the room.

I think most of the issues that some of the critics have of the remake is largely because Tim Curry isn’t involved. Don’t get me wrong, I love Tim Curry be it Rocky Horror, Congo or The Wild Thornberrys. That being said, there is no way that this film is going to tamper with his legacy as Pennywise. The new one looks very different to that which Curry personified. Therefore, any concerns I think are unfounded. Some of the more ignorant sections of fans I’ve seen have even suggested why Tim Curry didn’t reprise the role. Some people are obviously ignorant to the first fact that Tim Curry is now 30 years older than when he did the original, in addition he also suffered a heavily debilitating stroke 4 years ago to which he is still recovering.

“Hello Sir – Do you have a moment to talk about Jesus Christ?”

Why IT is going to be awesome!

Firstly, the trailer is genuinely creepy, which is the perfect tone. Creepy with moments of terror. That’ll do nicely thank you. As a remake, they appear to be getting it right. We recently reported about a proposed Resident Evil remake, as we said then, it’s ripe, but as long as its done correctly. The Blade Runner sequel this year, I’m all over like a fly on poop.

For the IT remake, they are, literally remaking the film. It’s similar enough so that we know what to expect, but different enough for us to warrant going to see this. I rarely watch films at the cinema. I’ll be going to see Dunkirk on Friday, I’ll be going to see the Blade Runner sequel and I’m definitely going to see this. Considering that I have not once been to the cinema in 5 years, this could mean that 2017 is a pretty decent year.
