This is a very good week for fans of the Wasteland series, as not only was the game announced, but it’s now also started an already very successful crowd funding campaign along with the release of a new trailer. The new game promises a whole host of new features and a new location, as well as vehicles, co-op gameplay and a whole lot more.
The crowd funding campaign is asking for $2.75 million, but at the time of writing, it has already scored an incredible $2,161,063 with 28 days and 17 hours remaining, so it seems like it’s going to be a done deal, with over 10,000 backers already having laid down funds for the game.
“From the creators of Wasteland 2 and Torment: Tides of Numenera comes Wasteland 3! Following the critically acclaimed releases of 2014’s Wasteland 2 and 2015’s Wasteland 2: Director’s Cut, fans have been clamoring for a direct sequel. Now we can bring it to you, with your help!”
“If a platform like Fig had existed back when we kickstarted the Wasteland 2 campaign, investors would have been very happy,” said Brian Fargo, CEO, inXile Entertainment.
“We want to take our Wasteland franchise to a darker and brutal post-apocalyptic setting that builds on the foundation of Wasteland 2. A game that is ambitious in reactivity and with new features like multi-player and the integration of vehicles into the world.”
