Unreal Tournament is one of the greatest and most successful first-person shooters of the era before Battlefield and Call of Duty came along and ruined thing for the rest of us. The games were furious, frantic, had great graphics and incredibly tight gameplay mechanics that are fun to use now as they where when the games released. Not to mention the series offered some of the most exciting team based action for LAN parties. Now it looks like the series may be making a return to our screens as Paul Meegan, VP of Product Development for Epic Games has suggested we all tune into the UnrealEngine channel on Twitch this Thursday (08/05/2014) at 2PM ET.
With Unreal Engine 4 now at their disposal, Epic Games are in a prime position to bring the series back to market, with eSports, ProGaming and LAN events now bigger than ever and the PC gaming market flourishing, it couldn’t come at a better time. The team is no longer working on the Gears of War series and things have been a little quiet from them, so we can only hope that a new Unreal title is in the works.
