Wavemaster Mobi Mobile Speaker Review

This being the first Wavemaster mobile product I’ve tested, I wasn’t expecting much from it in terms of performance. I just wasn’t that excited about testing a tiny speaker as on paper it doesn’t sound like the most fun way to spend an afternoon, but I’ll eat my own words on that one because it turns out it was a lot of fun.

This isn’t the best mobile speaker I’ve ever heard, or even tested, there are bigger, better and more powerful solutions on the market. Yet with that increase in performance your going to be missing out on several things, first it would cost you more than twice as much for a better device, it would likely weigh more and likely not fit in your pocket. What the Mobi has in its favour then is a relatively low price for something that is highly portable, lightweight and while not as powerful as some devices, it still packs a mighty punch of its own.

In terms of audio performance, you and a few friends could easily enjoy music from the Mobi, even if you’re in a noisy environment, outdoors or just sitting at home you’re not going to have any issues with volume and clarity. While yes it does distort at the near maximum volume, so too does near any audio device and its plenty loud enough before you get that far up the volume slider.

The mobile world is ever more crowded with devices like this and as I said before it can be hard to tell the good from the bad, so hopefully I can make this more subjective. If you’re looking for a powerful, highly compact and portable yet mostly inexpensive audio solution for you phone, then the Mobi is perfect for you. With a price at £19.99 it’s an excellent solution for those that just need something to keep in their back pack for the times they really want to share their listening experience.
