Wavemaster Moody 2.1 Speaker System Review

Overall a very impressive product from Wavemaster and while it isn’t going to win awards for being the best audio system on the market its could very well be one of the best value for money systems available at the moment. Sure there are offerings within this price range from Edifer, Microlab, Logitech which in most cases for a system of this power cost around 50% more and from my experience don’t look or sound any better.

The sound of the Moody is a little unrefined, I admit that, but I can’t judge it on how it can struggle to balance mid range frequencies because at this price range, just about everything fails to provide a highly accurate sound. As I said in the performance section you can tweak the tone with the controls on the back of the sub to get some great sounds out of this system that for under 100 Euro are simply hard to match.

The overall style of the system is a big win too and while the sub maybe a little big for some peoples desktop arrangements, keep in mind that this speaker system isn’t just marketed for PC usage, but also home entertainment in general. I especially like the satellite speakers which have been really nicely put together and styled, regardless of their plastic construction. Another bonus worth mentioning is that none of the speakers distorted or rattled even at high volume, I have to confess that I haven’t maxed this system out, you get the idea around 75% that you’ve passed the limits of human ear drums and for me that’s powerful enough.

So good build quality, at least better than many other sets within the sub 100 euro price range, good sound quality and a powerful performance in general, a high quality hard wired control dial and a very reasonable price tag for their performance make this without a doubt one of the best Bang for Buck awards we’ve given so far.
