Western Digital has revealed its WD Black officially licensed expansion card for Xbox Series consoles expanding upon your game storage and ending the Seagate exclusivity deal leading to much more acceptable prices for these cards.
This new expansion card for Xbox comes in sizes of up to 1TB delivering the extra storage that you need to install the latest titles on your Xbox series X/S console. This expansion card enables you to play games directly from the card avoiding the requirements of transferring a game when using an alternative external storage drive. The drive itself features the rugged black WD_Black design and fits neatly into the storage expansion support with a plug-and-play installation.
“Xbox consoles have been a much-beloved gaming staple in households around the globe for decades,” said Susan Park, vice president, global strategic partnerships at Western Digital. “With the introduction of the WD_BLACK C50 Expansion Card for Xbox, gamers can continue to enjoy their favourite games with more flexibility so they can focus on accomplishing their next mission or defeating their final boss.”
The WD_BLACK C50 Expansion Card for Xbox retails for $79.99 MSRP (512 GB) and $149.99 MSRP (1 TB) and will be available today at the Western Digital store. Additionally, the card comes with a 1-month trial of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
