Yesterday we brought you a rumour that 2017 may see the release of a new Metro game, based on some of the information found on the Metro novel site. We did voice our concerns that with very little information about the new game existing, it seemed unlikely the game would be ready so soon, given how long companies play the PR game prior to a game’s release, and it now looks like Deep Silver agrees with that.
“As the exclusive rights holder to videogames set in the Metro 2033 universe, Deep Silver has ambitious plans for the hugely successful Metro series,” says the Facebook update. “But just to manage our fans’ expectations – releasing the next Metro game in 2017 is not one of them.” and “When we have more news to share, we will.”
As we said yesterday, do we think Deep Silver is working on a new Metro game? Absolutely, will it be out in 2017? We don’t think so. Honestly, though, we’re a little disappointed, as a new Metro game in 2017 would have been great news.
