Western Digital Corporation has just launched a brand new selection of 256 GB microSD cards, including the new 256GB SanDisk Extreme microSDXC UHS-I card that’s actually the fastest one in its class. Moreover, the 256GB SanDisk Ultra microSDXC UHS-I card – Premium Edition is also included in this release, and this particular model is noteworthy because it was optimized specifically for mainstream users. With these cards, smartphone, drone, and action camera users will be able to enjoy exceptional performance and generous storage capacity, which will allow them to capture professional-grade content without having to worry about disk space.
Dinesh Bahal, vice president of SanDisk product marketing, Western Digital, has stated the following:
“Our microSD cards are now at the center of many consumer devices, and we’re excited to not only raise the bar with the launch of the world’s fastest microSD card, but to also offer a family of 256GB microSD cards that give consumers the flexibility they need to capture life at its fullest. As a leading global storage provider with one of the most trusted flash brands, we take pride in transforming the way consumers capture, store and share their content.”
The 256GB SanDisk Extreme microSDXC UHS-I card is able to deliver transfer speeds of up to 100 MB/s, while the 256GB SanDisk Ultra microSDXC UHS-I card, Premium Edition, features similar performance capabilities, with transfer speeds of up to 95 MB/s. This means that some users will be able to transfer up to 1,200 photos in just one minute, which is definitely nothing to sneeze at.
