I’m a big fan of demake videos, as they throw me back to a time when my gaming life was so much simpler. I would be able to kick back for hours on end with some retro (well, they weren’t retro at the time) games every night… oh wait, I still do that. However, I am a child of the PS1 era, and my teenage years were filled with Tony Hawk, Tomb Raider, and Tunnel B1. To name but a few T’s.
The PlayStation 1 has one of the most unique and defined visual styles of any console. It relied on some interesting dithering techniques, and often suffered from a strange wobble in its polygons due to hardware limitations; something that’s clearly not an issue on today’s AAA titles.
I love modern high-resolution gaming, but being able to take those wonderful designs and demake them to look like PlayStation 1 games does net some hilarious results. It almost feels like a spoof of the PS1 era, but this is exactly what it was like in reality.
Anders Lundbjörk has created a bunch of these videos, such as this fantastic Cyberpunk one, and a really cool one for Oblivion. And now… The Witcher 3! Check it out below.

Wondering how they’re made? He’s also released this cool how-to video!
