Which New Tablet Sold 50,000 Units In Under 4 Minutes?

There’s no question that certain brands of products are incredibly popular and sell out very fast, Apple is often the  typical example of this: people will queue up outside their stores on launch day and empty the stores of new releases. However, the most recent example wasn’t Apple but the Asian brand Xiaomi whose “Mi Pad” tablet sold out in 3 minutes 59 seconds. You might think that there were only a few available…nope, there were 50,000 units up for grabs at $241 each. Xiaomi will do it all again on July 8th when the next round of sales begin.

What makes the Xiaomi Mi Pad so special? Well for just $241 you get 2GB of RAM, Nvidia’s Tegra K1 chip, a 6700 mAh battery, a retina 1536 x 2048 7.9 inch display, 16 or 64GB of storage and Wireless AC. Not bad for $241, maybe more tablet vendors should take a leaf out of Xiaomi’s book.
