Who Needs A Smart Car When You Can Have A Smart Go-Kart?

In this day and age, we are adding technology to anything and everything we can get our hands on, one of the most accepted uses of technology is in our homes. The Nest system is designed to create a connected network of thermostats and smoke detectors, but one of Nests co-creators Tony Fadell doesn’t want to stop making our houses smart. The latest plan is to create smart electric go-karts, all designed to give you that smart car experience for the younger generation.
The company behind the electric variation of a classic petrol vehicle is Arrow Smart-Kart, including everything from GPS and Wifi to a mobile app for all of the parents out there. The app enables the user to limit top speed on a kart, perform an emergency stop remotely and even geofence the karts ability to move, limiting the kart’s movement to a certain area. Initially designed for kids aged 5 to 9 years old, the app’s features can help give even younger children a chance to enjoy kart racing, with proximity sensors helping avoid those costly accidents before they dent your wallet.
The start kit will set you back $600 if you pre-order, with the normal price coming in at $1,000. Not only designed for the younger generation, the company hasn’t ruled out creating adult versions of the electric go-kart, possibly taking sports like Formula-E to the karting track for everyone to enjoy.
