In Win Launches 'Mod in Taiwan 2.0' Case Design Competition

Mod in Taiwan 2.0

Case manufacturer In Win launched the ‘Mod in Taiwan’ live modding event at Computex two years ago. Now they are making the event even bigger and adding a case design competition component. This allows even non-modders to participate since there is no actual metal cutting or painting involved. However, they are still having a live modding invitational event as well leading up Computex.

Case Design Competition

In Win fans are encouraged to participate in their new case design competition and win prizes. Using the In Win 303 case as a template, users are asked to customize and re-design the chassis. You can read eTeknix’ review of the In Win 303 chassis here. These designs will then be judged by a panel of professional case modders if it is worthy of winning prizes. The winning design could also see production if selected. So this is a great chance for those who always wanted to see their ideas come to life.

The panel of judges include legendary names in the case modding world. This includes Jesse Palacio of JPModified, Peter Brands, creator of the L3p D3sk, Veteran modders Peter and Stefan Blass of Babetech Custom PC, as well as US modder Dave “InsolentGnome” Cathey.

There will also be a public voting period, so prizes could be won by the most popular designs. The winner of the In Win Choice award will also have their design produced and displayed during Computex 2018.

Modding Invitational Competition

From April 16th through 20th, five modding teams will be invited to In Win headquarters in Taiwan to participate in a live modding event. The event is an inventive and innovative collaboration between modding professionals/PC enthusiasts and the In Win R&D team, with the aim of creating awesome new designs and fresh ideas. The finished case mods will be on display at the In Win booth during Computex Taipei 2018 in Taiwan.

You can read eTeknix’ coverage of the first modding event back in 2016 by following this link. We are looking forward to see this next competition live as well.

Who is Sponsoring the Prizes for This Event?

Up to $12,000 USD worth of cash prizes and hardware is up for grabs, including: computer chassis, motherboards, graphics cards and water-cooling kits. Intel, ASUS, NVIDIA GeForce Garage, HyperX and EKWB are sponsoring the prizes. There are of course, In Win hardware prizes to be won as well.
