Still waiting on the Windows 10 Game Mode? It looks like you won’t have to wait much longer! Microsoft has announced that the Windows 10 Creators Update will be available to all on April 11th. This update adds a bunch of cool features, allowing for creative types to play around with mixed reality, 3D, and broadcasting features for gaming, all built into the OS. It’ll also add new features to Edge, more security updates, privacy tools, etc.
Of course, the Windows 10 Game Mode is coming too, and it aims to allow gamers to unlock more system resources by shutting down non-essential processes, which can result in more memory, more available CPU performance, and more, which will also hopefully mean an improvement in game performance. The cool thing is that this feature can be enabled on any game!
Early tests have reported that mid and high-end systems haven’t seen any improvements to game performance with this feature, but those on low-end systems could benefit from increased system resources being made available. Of course, it’s still early days, so we’ll wait for the final rollout and do some testing of our own.
