Windows 10 Expected to be Finished by June

Microsoft is on schedule to have the final build of Windows 10 done in June, as reported by Neowin. Although, as we all know, time frames can change. With the second preview having been released last month, we expect to see the official release happening sometime soon and the debut of Windows 10 for mobile devices this month.

Microsoft’s annual Build Developer Conference in April will give us a chance to see more of the features of Windows 10, although most of those updates are geared toward the developing classes.

Despite the still young nature of Windows 8/8.1, the timeline in use by Microsoft for Windows 10 is very similar to that was used with Windows 8 during its early stages of development to RTM. Brad Sams, from the Neowin Report, states:

“For a bit more information about the timetable, if you look at the Windows 8 release schedule, that OS hit RTM August 1st, 2012 and Windows 8’s consumer preview was at the end of February.”

Now before we get ahead of ourselves, let’s remember that RTM releases are not public, but instead go out to companies such as Dell, HP, etc.  This strategy has PCs and laptops powered by Windows 10 on the market by the time the new school year starts, long before the major holiday season. At the end of the day, the possibility of things changing that timeframe is keeping Microsoft from officially confirming this time frame.
