We already brought you the news not that long ago that Microsoft was likely to launch Windows 8 in October. This has now been confirmed by Microsoft, with consumer availability for October and enterprise/partner availability for August.
The specific launch date for consumers to take note of is October the 26th, this date was announced by Steven Sinofsky, president of Windows division at Microsoft, at the company’s annual sales meeting.
