Windows 9, codename Windows Blue, already in development

Windows 8 still won’t hit the consumer shelves until the 26th of October, yet early reports suggest Microsoft has been working on the next in the series of Windows operating systems. The successor to Windows 8 is yet to be named, its codename is Windows Blue, but for convenience the media is already dubbing it Windows 9.
Microsoft has certainly started development very early, Windows 9 development begun on August the 9th 2012. Apart from that little snippet, we know very little. And as little as it may be, its possible the rumour may not even be true. But for all its worth its nice to see Microsoft never rests on its laurels and is always keeping software development moving in the right direction, well we will let consumers decide if that’s the case once Windows 8 is released to the general public.
Scepticism around Windows 8 remains, many are labelling Windows 8 as the “next Vista”, perhaps suggesting why Windows 9 development has started so early. We think you should try Windows 8 yourself before jumping to any conclusions and as far as Windows 9 goes – we expect it to come around in late 2014 at the earliest.
