Windows’ new ‘blue screen of death’ ….are you serious?

With Microsoft’s Build ongoing, various previews of Windows 7’s successor can also be downloaded as well as version of the OS itself can tried, although it isn’t something that I would do, as the OS is still in it’s testing version.

This implies that while you do get a an early version of upcoming Windows 8, you get a version filled with yet to be fixed bugs, therefore, you don’t get much stability.

Interestingly enough, while you sometimes may get an unexpected shut down of the application or a green screen to name a few, Windows 8 is now featuring a new ‘blue screen of death’ (BSoD), which, for those unfamiliar with it, is an error screen characterized by it’s blue color that is displayed when Windows encounters a critical error, usually of non-recoverable nature.

The latest versions of Windows informed the user of the error through a screen of the kind:

Windows 8 version is a bit more up-to-date communication wise and amusing at the same occassion:

Unfortunately, it isn’t confirmed whether or not this version of the BSoD will be kept in the final version, although, even if  not necessary, it’s kind of nice to see an update, even though having a smiley instead of the old-school BSoD won’t change anything.
