Winter is Coming Mod Brings Christmas to Witcher 3

The Witcher 3 is a masterpiece in terms of storytelling, gameplay and visual fidelity and deserves to be considered as the greatest game during the last decade. Rather impressively, the development studio CD Projekt Red compiled stunning environments which beautifully honoured the previous entry. Not only that, they consistently improved the optimisation and released huge expansions which are easily worth the money! Of course, the Witcher 3 embraces mod support and sees the value of the user-created content. Just in time for the holiday period, a new mod emerged which transforms the game’s appearance by scattering snow over the landscape. The end result is absolutely gorgeous and it’s surprising how well the cold weather complements the game’s visual style.

I particularly like when the snow contrasts with the water and it looks like the perfect combination. The mod is entitled, “Winter is Coming” and available from ModDB. Please note, it only works on the vanilla areas and you cannot use the mod alongside the Blood and Wine DLC. Hopefully, this will change soon and I wouldn’t mind completing the Witcher 3 once again with a more Christmassy tone.
