Witcher 3 Comes out on Top in Recent Top 100

Witcher 3 still a fan-favorite

It came out in 2015 and some say that it revolutionized gaming. We’re talking about Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, one of the most amazing games ever developed by CD Projekt RED. The title received two expansions named Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, both of which managed to improve gameplay and graphics even more. Recently, PC Gamer and its readers compiled a Top 100 of the best games that you can play right now, and it looks like Witcher 3 came out on top. No surprises there. What is surprising, though, is that Half Life 2 managed to take the No.2 spot. Skyrim and Dark Souls came in at third and fourth, while Borderlands 2 and Fallout: New Vegas followed. PC Gamer originally placed Half Life 2 on the 11th spot, but readers eventually boosted it to the second tier.

Some games did not make the list

Not all games were so appreciated. Actually, some were removed from the list altogether. For instance, Spelunky was initially placed on the 10th spot, but gamers thought that it didn’t even deserve to be included. Witcher 3 is still a hit even though it came out two years ago and many other notable titles were launched since then. I looked for Mass Effect: Andromeda, but I couldn’t find it among the first 20. Mass Effect 2 sits at no.7, though. You can have a look at the first 20 positions below, and make sure to watch the emotional Witcher 3 video that was released a few days ago in order to mark Geralt’s 10th anniversary.
