Work Has Officially Started on Final Fantasy XVI PC Version
Peter Donnell / 1 year ago
I was so eager to play Final Fantasy XVI, but it was mere weeks before the launch that I noticed that it wasn’t coming out on PC, It’s my own fault, I’ll admit, but these console-exclusive launches really do feel like we’re stuck in the past at times. It doesn’t help that in 2020, Square Enix released a trailer for Final Fantasy 16 that mentioned it was the PC version, but they later backtracked on that part. Thankfully, however, it seems that Square Enix has begun work on the PC release, and has released a new update showcase video to that effect.

Naoki Yoshida
According to Naoki Yoshida, there should be an update on Final Fantasy XVI PC by the end of the year, but that means the game will likely target a 2024 release at the earliest. Hopefully, it won’t be too far into the new year, but it’s not like we’re starved for big releases right now and in the coming months, so maybe it’s not a bad thing we have to wait…
PC Port
Now all we have to do is hope the port with be good, as the PC is getting a spotty history that seems to go from one amazing port with PC-focused features to a dozen lazy efforts, so who knows where FF XVI will land.
