Would You Battery Power Your Home?

As we develop technology, how we change and live is being shaped more and more by our technology. With smart homes offering us the ability to warm up the home before you are even in the door or playing your music in rooms upstairs or downstairs at the press of a button. One way to keep your house smart is to make sure it’s powered all the time, and with home based battery storage solutions expected to double in the next year, maybe remotely powered homes will be the next step in smart homes.
According to the IHS, over the next decade we will see Li-ion batteries becoming mainstream with around 80% of global energy storage installations including it by 2025. With the energy storage market expected to double this year alone, you could soon end up with your house holding all the power you need to operate for one or more days.
The expected location is that half of these storage solutions will occur behind the meter, meaning they’ll be happening within your homes and are powered by the rise in solar panels generation around the entire world.
Imagine being able to survive days of power cuts thanks to batteries and solar panels, with so little of your energy coming from the national grids at an almost negligible cost.
