X399 Aorus Xtreme Threadripper Motherboard Review

Gaming Performance
Well, I can’t sugar coat the raw performance, as it’s about the worst we’ve seen from any motherboard. However, it’s still about on par with other X399 solutions. These CPUs just don’t have the single core performance needed to improve framerates. As more games are built to use more cores, that could change though. However, having 20-cores left idle while gaming means you’ve got a HUGE amount of overhead for rendering, streaming, and other applications. The X399 Xtreme is built for content creation, so if you’re running a 4K gaming rendering, capturing, streaming, editing, and whatever else set up, you’ll find the extra features of the motherboard more useful than raw FPS performance.
