Microsoft released their Xbox Adaptive controller back in September for £74.99. The device is meant for users with disability and accessibility issues, so that they can have proper controls for the Xbox One console. Even the packaging is disability-friendly, and is easy to open for almost anyone.
Although many gamers are glad that such an option exists, unfortunately not all consoles offer a similar option. However, it appears that the Xbox Adaptive Controller might just be compatible with non-Xbox devices after all.
As the YouTube channel My Mate VINCE (via The Verge) demonstrates on their latest video, it doesn’t take much effort to use this controller on the Nintendo Switch. In fact, all it took was a £19 device (via Amazon UK) called the MAGIC-NS Wireless Controller Adapter.
The adapter is from MayFlash who manufactures low-cost gaming devices. In fact, most gamers know them as the makers of the several affordable fighting game arcade stick controller in the market.
However, their Magic-NS adapter allows for Nintendo Switch compatibility with various controllers. This includes wirelessly connect a PS4, PS3, Nintendo Switch pro, Nintendo Switch Joy-Con, Wii U pro, and Xbox One S Bluetooth Controllers to your Nintendo Switch, PS3 or PC system.
Obviously, there are some settings that need tweaking. Specifically under the ‘Controller and Sensors’ menu on the Nintendo Switch. However, this is the best solution so far, outside of an official support announcement from both Microsoft and Nintendo.
