Yusef Mehdi, the Xbox Chief of Marketing has spoken at the Citi Global Technology Conference, where he stated that Microsoft are now in full production of their next-gen console the Xbox One. Microsoft are now producing the console in mass ready for their November 2013 launch window, which they are still expecting to hit although an exact date has yet to be announced we can expect it very shortly now that production is moving along swiftly.
It was only one month ago that Microsoft improved the GPU clock speed of the Xbox One and now it looks like the console is about to get another boost by taking the CPU performance from 1.6 Ghz to 1.75 Ghz, that may not sound like much right now, but every little help and anyone who has overclocked their PC knows that those few extra clock cycles can make a noticeable difference to performance.
Mehdi went on to say that the system is “really going to shine.” “This will be the biggest launch we’ve ever done by a wide margin in terms of units shipped at launch,” he continued.
Microsoft have been hit with localization issues that have caused some regions to miss out on the initial launch date hardware, so it is good to hear that Microsoft are back on track with the production of consoles. Some may remark that Microsoft are loosing this console war already, but pre-order figures are breaking records around the world for both Xbox One and PS4, the real race is who can get the most hardware to retail in time to meet demand.
