As expected, quite a few retailers such as Amazon Spain unveiled a potential release date for Microsoft’s Xbox One S console before the company’s official announcement, and it looks like this time around these retailers were definitely right. Not too long ago, Microsoft confirmed the official release date for the Xbox One S 2TB on August 2, which means that those of you who were looking forward to buying this console will soon be able to get your hands on one. August 2 is the date that the product will arrive on shelves in select regions, and so all pre-orders should actually become available on release day as well. When compared to the original Xbox One, the Xbox One S will be smaller and will include several extra features.
“Beyond the fresh new design, Xbox One S is the first and only console that allows you to watch Blu-ray movies and stream video in stunning 4K Ultra HD with HDR. That means you’ll get to enjoy your favorite shows and movies in the clearest, most realistic video possible. With High Dynamic Range (HDR) support for video and gaming, Xbox One games like Gears of War 4, Forza Horizon 3, and Scalebound will look even better thanks to a higher contrast ratio between lights and darks, bringing out the true visual depth of your favorite games.”
Apart from launching this new console, Microsoft will also bring out a new Xbox Wireless Controller, which will feature a textured grip, Bluetooth support, and a better signal. No word about the 1TB and 500GB versions of the Xbox One S at the time of writing, but we’ll definitely keep you posted as we find out more.
