Everyone knows by now that Microsoft is planning to release a more powerful, VR-ready version of its Xbox One console, a version that will most likely be codenamed Scorpio. These rumors are further backed by another report, which suggests that at least one major developer is currently working on a virtual reality game for Microsoft’s console. The game would be released in 2017, and it is being developed by a well-known European studio that’s famous for a well-established franchise. Since E3 is basically around the corner, we can expect to see a preview of this project soon, but it’s not exactly clear what platform will be used for this preview, as the project is also planned for a PC and PS4 release.
When compared to Sony and its PlayStation VR project, Microsoft has not unveiled much about its VR-related plans. Still, quite a few fans are hoping that the company will unveil a more powerful Xbox One that would be compatible with Oculus Rift headsets currently being used by PC gamers. I’m really looking forward to finding out what company is developing this new VR game. The fact that it is based in Europe narrows the list quite a bit, but it’s probably not a good idea to make any assumptions right now.
