XCOM: Enemy Unknown Xbox 360 Review

The game is set in the not to distant future, amidst an alien invasion a group called XCOM made up of the finest soldiers and scientists is formed and it’s down to XCOM to essentially save the earth. So where do you fit in to all this? As the player you take control of the commander of XCOM, you basically and quite literally call the shots.

Of course the typical sci-fi scenario of invasion plays out throughout the game. With the alien threat coming to Earth, wiping out major cities, killing people, abduction and experimentation because they want our shiny blue marble of a planet, etc etc.

Overall the story isn’t the most intellectual and really only serves the purpose that is required in most any game. It gives you a reason to do the thing that’s fun to do, the gameplay. Because the story does play a less important roll in XCOM I’m not really going to go into too much detail other than, there are aliens, you kill them before they kill you, then more show up who are stronger, rinse repeat.
