A Closer Look – Exterior
Power Supply Unit
Taking a quick look at the XFX PRO 450W we see that it is fairly similar to all the other PRO series power supplies by XFX. The unit is plain black with a widely spaced fan grille that has an XFX logo at the centre.
On both sides we find the same branding and logos except in reverse depending on which way around you want to mount things.
On the bottom there is the amp and wattage breakdown information for each of the rails as well as some of the various technical certifications this power supply abides to.
At the cable end we find nothing but a blank black metal plate from which all the hard wired cables emerge.
Around the rear of the PSU we find hexagonal mesh ventilation, an XFX logo, the kettle lead input and a power switch.
Cabling
Cabling is all fairly cheap and cheerful: all the cables are multi-coloured and the sleeving is fairly thin and low quality. You get 24 pin motherboard, 4+4pin CPU and 6+2 pin PCIe connectors.
You also get three more peripheral cables, one with four SATA, another with two SATA and another with three molex and one FDD.
