GeForce Now is NVIDIA’s cloud gaming streaming service which offers those without a strong PC to play games on a potato. The service offers both paid subscription tiers as well as a free tier which until now has been ad-free.
GeForce Now With Ads
As reported by The Verge, NVIDIA’s free tier of GeForce Now will be receiving ads from March 5th. These ads won’t be obtrusive and will only appear for up to 2 minutes whilst players wait in the queue to start a gaming session. These ads will help pay for the free tier of the service, plus NVIDIA expects this change will reduce the average wait times as well.
This shouldn’t be a problem as we all know a free service needs to make some form of money and ads are a start for that. They’ll only appear during the queue and won’t interrupt your game so nothing to really worry about.
