Price
The Xigmatek LOKI II is a modest cooler with a modest price tag, it’s certainly affordable and while the performance isn’t breathtaking it’s certainly priced to reflect that. You can pick up the LOKI II from Overclockers UK for just £16.99.
Overview
The Xigmatek LOKI II isn’t the coolest cooler I’ve ever tested, far from it. Nor is it the quietest cooler I’ve ever tested, but at the end of the day, it’s also one of the cheapest coolers I’ve ever tested, so it’s certainly positive to see it’s not the worst cooler on our charts. When you’ve got a CPU that doesn’t come with a stock cooler, or you’ve got a stock cooler that is noisy and runs hot, this is certainly a step up and when all you need is something that will keep your CPU within safe operating temperatures, especially if you’re not overclocking, then this certainly fits the bill.
A low-to-mid range gaming build, office system or simple workstation, the LOKI II is well suited to the job and while I admit I would normally say mean things about a cooler of this level of performance, within its respective price range the LOKI II performs admirably. If you’re on a tighter budget, need something that’s small and compact for a HTPC style build, you’ll love the LOKI II. If you can afford to spend a bit more for greater performance, I’d certainly recommend you do so, but we all know that’s not always possible for various reasons.
Build quality is really nice, the fan design looks cool, especially with its braided cable and the installation is nice and easy; that’s most of the important boxes ticked right there.
Pros
Cons
“The Xigmatek LOKI II is about as little CPU cooler as you can reasonable get away with, for as little money as possible, but it still offers up commendable performance that’s a great upgrade from stock cooling and is perfect for those on a tight budget”
