Overclocked CPU TemperaturesWe repeated the testing procedures with our Intel Core i7 2600K CPU overclocked to 4.0GHz using a BIOS voltage of 1.20V. We must remind you that this is a slightly lower overclock than our usual 4.4GHz @ 1.24V due to the realistic aims of Xigmatek’s SD963 Loki CPU cooler.
The reason for the LGA 1155 cooler’s ‘load’ results is due to its inability to complete the test.
The Xigmatek takes a default win in the overclocked CPU test due to the LGA 1155 heatsink’s inability to complete the test. Hitting a massive 91C after just 30 seconds of Prime95, we had to abort the test and call the result a fail. The Xigmatek Loki did however show good performance with this overclock setting, sitting at 52C above ambient after 15 minutes of Prime95 is a decent achievement for a cooler of this calibre.
Seeing acceptable performance shown by the Loki in our 4.0GHz overclocked CPU test, we had no choice but to give in to our curiosity and test the cooler at our usual 4.4GHz, 1.24V overclock setting.
The Loki did manage to complete both test procedures and run stably at our usual 4.4GHz, 1.24V overclocked CPU test. We wouldn’t however recommend this as a 24/7 setting using this Xigmatek cooler as a delta temperature of 63.5C is slightly higher than we would like to see for daily usage.
