Taking a look at the front of the box, we can see that Xigmatek have put a little extra thought into the logo for the Midgard II set off nicely with a Centurion soldier on the right. Below the logo we can see a quick run down of the Midgard II’s major features, such as its “leather-coating” on the top and front panel, support for up to three external 5.25″ drives and one slim drive, six 2.5″ / 3.5″ hard drives, a removable hard drive cage for long graphics card installations, room for up to eight cooling fans and a top panel I/O which includes a SATA HDD dock and USB 3.0 support. So plenty of major features on offer here, but well take a closer look at those in a moment.
In the box you will find the usual components such as the instruction book, cables ties and the normal nuts and bolts required for fan and motherboard installation. Aside from that there is also a 5.25″ drive bay faceplate that can be used for a slim DVD-Rom or similar device and a very handy fan controller and its accompanying connection cables for up to 3 fans, which take up one of the the rear PCI expansion slots.
