Now that we’ve seen the outside, it’s time to open up the side panel and see what features Xigmatek have fitting the Midgard II with, starting on the right hand side we can see the 3 “X” branded quick release locks for the optical bays, again keeping with the “X” theme, with two hard drive cages each supporting three drives each. We can also see some of the cable management solutions available, with 3 cut-outs on the back plate, as well as a larger cut-out for installing a CPU cooler. In the bottom of the chassis we also have two dust filtered fan mounts, one for the PSU and space for an additional 120mm fan in the middle.
All 6 hard drive bays come fitted with quick release drive trays for simple installation and removal of your hard drives drives.
At the back we can see the pre-installed rear fan, with the 7 expansion slots below that, which are not ventilated but do all come with quick release thumb screws for easy installation.
With both side panels off we can clearly see that large cutaway from installing CPU coolers, always a very handy feature, meaning you don’t have to remove your motherboard to upgrade any CPU coolers.
