Final Thoughts
This product is aimed at those of us who are looking for a great looking high-performance heatsink that can cool the CPU quietly and effectively. The way it was designed for passive cooling means that by hooking a fan up to it, lower RPMs are needed.
This is by far the best cooler I have tested, combining high performance with outstanding looks while maintaining an excellent build quality unparalleled by any other cooler I have used. Although installation can be a little tricky, the finished article is very rewarding. If you are a fanatic about how your rig looks like myself, then you will have lots of fun playing with different methods of lighting the cooler to give it the spotlight it deserves.
Overall, the Thor’s Hammer provides top notch cooling performance to satisfy the needs of enthusiasts and overclockers, and has the looks to satisfy case modders and fanatics. However, this uncompromised performance ad build quality comes at a price, coming in at around £40 at the time of writing the price is up there with some of the best tower coolers, but also matches them in performance, and blows them out of the water with looks!
Pros:
- Beautiful appearance
- Good cooling at low RPMs
- High performance
- Can be run passively
- Box worthy of being mounted on a display!
Cons:
- Expensive
- Limited installation options for AMD users
- No fans included
