XPG Valor Mesh Compact Mid-Tower Case Review

Interior

There’s a good amount of space in here, and the case will easily support an ATX motherboard, but E-ATX would be far too wide, and conflict with the cable routing holes on the right.

The cable routing is kept simple, with pressed holes dotted around the case, but there aren’t many of them. But hey, this is a small case, so the motherboard really is going to fill most of this space, so that’s not that surprising really.

There’s a full-length PSU shroud though, which is also ventilated, so it’ll stop pockets of warm air getting trapped under it.

Plus the bottom front fan will direct air under it too, cooling any storage driver you may have down there. There’s a cut-away on the PSU shroud too, which allows room for a 360mm or 280mm radiator to be installed in the front of the case.

The front fans look great, they’re XPG’s own branded fans too, which I like to see, but unfortunately, they do not provide specifications for them. However, there are three 120mm in the front, and you can swap them out for 2 x 140mm if you ever felt the need.

Behind the motherboard, there’s nothing really surprising going on, with a small but sufficient amount of cable routing space behind the motherboard. Keep in mind, that there is a PSU shroud, so tucking excess cables down there will save space behind the motherboard anyway.

There are two SSD mounting trays right behind the motherboard too, you can take them out, screw your drive in place, and then mount it back with a single screw; nice and easy.

For HDD, you’ll find a drive cage mount under the PSU shroud. This cage is removed as standard though but comes in the box…

Just slot it in and you’re good to go!
