Performance After a Year of Usage

So, the first question we ask ourselves is whether the performance of the setup has decreased after a year of full usage and on this page, we’ll take a look at that.

For this, I will be using four of my default benchmark apps: Anvil’s Storage Utilities, AS SSD Benchmark, ATTO Disk Benchmark, and CrystalDiskMark. Those four in combination should give us a broad view on the setup’s performance in all sort of operations.

Anvil’s Storage Utilities

Anvil’s Storage Utilities give us a view on how both incompressible and compressible data is handled.

AS SSD Benchmark

AS SSD Benchmark has most performance parts covered with sequential and random performance along with access times of the array.

ATTO Disk Benchmark

ATTO Disk Benchmark is a pretty straightforward sequential benchmark application that will get the most out of the drive with this sort of benchmarks.

CrystalDiskMark

CrystalDiskMark is similar to AS SSD in terms of tests, but not quite as comprehensive. It still features both sequential and random performance tests.

Page Conclusion

While I don’t have any screenshots of the tests I made at the beginning due to a USB drive failing, I can say that they were pretty much on par with what’s shown here. So we can conclude, the drives and the setup haven’t degraded in term of performance.
