YouTube Want To Put An End To The Drama

YouTube

It has certainly been an interesting few months on YouTube, but then, that’s often the case. If it’s not people cementing their heads in microwaves, or social media ‘influencers’ after freebies then it’s Logan Paul’s latest antics. It could be worse, people could be eating soap tablets.

YouTube, has, however, announced that it wants to end all of the dramas that appear on its website and resume some form of normality.

Can you blame them?

Based on those stories we reported on above, I don’t think I can blame YouTube. While it is, of course, a fantastic place to visit to see the weird and wonderful, too often now, something is done that pushes the limits of what is acceptable.

YouTube simply doesn’t want to have to deal with this anymore. Logan Paul particularly has been a considerable cause of a headache for the video hosting site. At present, it would almost seem like the guy is deliberately on self-destruct mode. That, however, is another story for another day.

Why we need less drama in our lives!

Drama can be good. Personally, I love me a bit of TV drama, but I don’t go to YouTube for it. Particularly when that drama is stupid people doing stupid things. YouTube’s main concern at present is that some users may deliberately creating dramas to get views and follows. An allegation to which I think they may have a valid point.

YouTubes thoughts

In a report via Polygon, Robert Kyncl, YouTube’s chief business officer who oversees creators said: “We’re thinking very deeply and every single day on how do we create the right incentives and disincentives for creators to do the right thing on YouTube. That means a lot of different things. That means do the right thing for advertisers, do the right thing for their users, for the platform organically, and not chase sensationalism; not chase views for the sake of views, and not chase drama for the sake of views and not use drama at our expense for the sake of views.”

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me, but what do you think? – Let us know in the comments!
