YouTube To Bring 48/60FPS Video Support “Soon”

YouTube has revealed that it will finally be providing support for video content delivered at a higher FPS than 24. Currently all YouTube video content is played by default at 24FPS, this means that fast-paced video or gameplay footage struggles to achieve smooth playback. YouTube is planning to change this by offering 48 and 60 FPS options to YouTubers in the future. No specific date was provided other than the feature would be “coming soon”.

“Motion-intense videos will look even better on YouTube when we launch support for 48 and even 60 frames per second, coming soon.” Stated YouTube on Twitter.

The technology is already working just fine as YouTube allowed EA to show their Battlefield Hardline multiplayer trailer on the site at 6o FPS, you can check that out below.
